Birchwood Connections project was part of Frequency Digital Arts Festival 2021.
In response to the Festivals theme of Connections, Lumo Workshop collaborated with local residents from Birchwood in Lincoln to make digital artwork, two giant Q.R code sculptures and wearable tech accessories to light up themselves and share with other community members across the city.
We invited local people to ‘tell us about your place’, sharing their stories of life in Birchwood to be part of a digital artwork premiered at the festival. We held drop in workshops and invited residents to get creative to make a light-up badge and help create two giant QR code sculptures, one installed in Birchwood and the other in the city centre during the Festival.
The digital artwork can be viewed via the video below. During the festival by using the QR codes found on the light up badges as well scanning the QR sculptures in Birchwood and The Cornhill.
