Under the sea Library design

Themed Library Refurbishment

Welbourn Primary School Library. Design and refurbishment following the 'under the sea' theme chosen by the children.

This project was something different for us and we approached it as we would a piece of
immersive theatre. The school asked us to create an underwater themed library for their pupils and
we covered every surface, including lighting, soft furnishings and a giant octopus. The children had
requested the theme and we were keen to include their artwork in the design so we worked with
every child in the school to make something for the new space.

“Everybody loves it and we all rush to sit under the Octopus!”  Year 5 pupil.

“It’s an amazing atmosphere to go and read a book in with your class or at break times.”  Year 6 pupil.
