Stamford Georgian Festival

Lantern parade and workshops for Stamford Georgian Festival 2019.

We were asked to create a lantern parade for Stamford Georgian Festival on the theme of the hot air balloon exploits of Mr Green, a one time resident of the town who was pioneering in his experiments with flight. We chose to design a hot air balloon that was relatively quick to produce in order to make over 850 lanterns (with schools, community groups and members of the general community) that filled the streets with light and colour for the parade through town. The parade took us to the old hospital where the lanterns filled the space for the finale show by Electric Egg and lady in balloon.
