We were commissioned to create an engagement project for the district for the Imagineer Productions project Bridge. We wanted to create a sculpture to tour the district that members of the community could help to decorate and which could feature in community events leading up to the Bridge performance.
We toured the district to decorate the panels that made up the sides of the community bridge.
It was assembled for the first time in St Wulfram’s Church in Grantham to launch the Bridge event. Street artist Mohammed Ali was invited to paint the bridge panels as a final layer to the design. The completed Community Bridge featured during several community events around the district before being installed at the inaugural Bridge performance. During the day, passers by were asked “what does Bridge mean to you?” Their responses were written on the bridge.
